Snehlata Kumari
Dr Snehlata Kumari is the head of skin inflammation and immunity laboratory at the University of Queensland Frazer Institute in Australia. She received her PhD and post-doctoral training in Germany.
She has pioneered the field of skin inflammation and immunity by advancing the knowledge of Epithelial cells, Cytokines, NF-kappaB, and Cell death signalling. Her research aims to understand the underlying mechanisms of skin inflammation and harness their potential to develop novel therapeutic strategies for inflammatory skin diseases (Psoriasis, Atopic Dermatitis and Hidradenitis Suppurativa).
Her research findings defining novel mechanisms of inflammation in the skin were published in top-tier journals including x3 Nature, Nature Communication and Immunity. She was recognised from the global Immunology and Dermatology scientific societies including the German National Academy of Sciences, European Society for Dermatological Research, and the 2021 Christina Fleishmann Award for the Young Women Investigator from the International Cytokine and Interferon Society, USA.
